Brent Demnar has over 30 years experience as an independent loss adjuster including general and commercial losses, aviation and crop. Mr. Demnar began to focus on agro-insurance program design and subsequent loss adjusting procedures in 1982. He has considerable experience in the investigation, quantification and settlement of agricultural losses at both an individual farm and industry level. His expertise covers a full range of crop types and perils, and includes exposure to a vast array of contract formats and compensation styles. In addition to being involved in the development and implementation of crop insurance programs in Australia and New Zealand, Mr. Demnar has completed international consulting and loss adjustment assignments (South Africa, Mauritius, North Korea, China, Malaysia, USA) for reinsurance firms, brokers, Lloyds’ Syndicates and the UNFAO.

THE ALM GROUP:
The Agricultural Loss Management (ALM) Group is an independent provider of specialist agri business loss adjustment, loss management and risk/consulting services.

The ALM Group is in fact the only independent loss adjustment and loss management company of its type operating within the Asia Pacific region solely dedicated to the agri business sector. The Group specialises in crop loss adjustment, agri business product and public liability investigation and adjustment and related consulting services to all sectors of the Insurance Industry, Corporate and Industry stakeholders and Government.

The Group was established in 1995 and has continued to expand both its representative reach and the scope of work performed. In addition to the Head Office in Brisbane, the Group now has 4 Regional offices strategically located throughout Australia, including an office in New Zealand, supported by an extensive consultant network.

EXPERIENCE:
Brent Demnar has been in practice as an independent loss adjuster for over 30 years. While his early career involved dealing with general and commercial losses, including aviation and crop, he commenced his agricultural specialization in 1982. By 1985, he had been given national responsibility on behalf of the GAB Robins Group for the development of crop adjustment and crop insurance development/consulting services.

He was instrumental in the emergence of many new crop insurance initiatives in the mid to late 1980’s, by assisting with the development of appropriate loss control and loss monitoring procedures and claims administration protocols. In addition to being involved in the development and implementation of crop insurance programs in Australia and New Zealand, he has also dealt with numerous international consulting and loss adjustment assignments (South Africa, Mauritius, North Korea, China, Malaysia, USA) for clients such as Reinsurers, Brokers, Lloyds’ Syndicates and the UNFAO.

Brent Demnar has considerable experience in the investigation, quantification, and settlement of agricultural losses at both an individual and industry level. His broad experience covers the full range of crop types and perils, and includes exposure to a vast array of contract formats and compensation styles. He maintains close contact with industry bodies both locally and internationally, and is well known within the key global Crop Reinsurance community.

As Group Chairman and Managing Director of the ALM Group, he oversees the operations of the company, particularly crop loss services. In addition to dealing with major losses and specialist lines, he continues an involvement in a broad range of adjusting and consulting assignments.
